Photo friday :)

I have I ever mentioned we have chickens. We love them :) They are so fun to watch. And having a always happy garbage disposal is very nice :)  We added ducks to our pen this year. They havent started laying yet, but the occassional quacking always makes us laugh.  She is quite sassy to our dog too.

Do you see the little chicken head peaking up?

  2. I love the second shot. We hatched five eggs this year and ended up with five roosters. Too funny! They certainly are entertaining.

  4. Hahaha, no they didnt peck the lense. They were scared of it. I was having a hard time getting close enough to them. I was holding a weed just above the lense trying to get their attention. I just love the goofy look on their faces when they look at you strait on. ANd Terry! 5 roosters! We only have 2 and im thinking that may be too many lol

  6. and ducks, apparently! Do you mind me asking if you enjoy your ducks? We have been considering getting some and would love some 'personal thoughts on the subject.' Do you love them or regret them?

  7. We love our ducks. The white one is an indian runner. They are good egg layers. And the brown is a kiaoga? Im not sure how to spell that. I would say a standard duck. The white one is super friendly. And when our dog barks at them she quacks back. But she is LOUD lol. The brown one I hardly every hear. So theyre much more quiet. Although we always know when something is up. The kids had accidentlly turned their water off. And she let us know! lol. One friend of mine said she used to put harness leash on hers, I have only had one person say their duck was mean. But all around ive heard good things :) Their eggs are supposed to be excellent for baking. Slightly larger than a chicken egg.
